The Mirrored Fish

There once was a fish with scales that reflected like a mirror. Most of the time the fish was invisible to the world until the sun hit the fish just right and the whole world could see the colors reflecting off of this marvelous fish in a rainbow in the sky. Everyone waited everyday hoping that this strange rainbow that seemed to come out of nowhere would appear again.
One day a fisherman came across the fish at first he wasn't able to see it but just as the sun came across the sky directly over the fish the fisherman became blinded by the rainbow. For days the fisherman was stranded in the middle of the ocean unable to see anything but raving about the unusual fish living in the water. Everyone in his town called him crazy. Soon the fisherman was known as The Nut that Lives in the Hut. Every word he spoke was about the invisible fish that blinded him.
People from far away showed up in his town having heard the stories he had told. They were curious to see if the stories were true or not. They went to the fisherman's neighbors to ask them questions about their strange neighbor. They learned that before he was found on the water raving about the fish, the fisherman had the best eyesight in town. The visitors decided that they needed to find what blinded the poor fisherman. They rented a boat and bought supplies that would last them for days.
They set out on their trip the following morning, Later that day, they notice a rainbow shooting out from the water a couple miles away as the sky exploded its different colors. They experienced this sky in their hometown not knowing where the rainbow came from. After the light disappeared they headed towards the area where the light came from. They waited for the light to appear again but this time it was back in the direction they came from the day before.  They quickly came up with a plan on how to find this invisible fish. They took harmless colored powder and started throwing it into the water. They did this for days careful not to look into the water when the sun was shiny over head having realized that's how the fisherman had become blind.
They found the fish. They even caught and  planned on putting it on display in an aquarium but one of the people on the boat reasoned with them.
"If we take the fish now there would be no more rainbows in the sky. I say we throw it back." They all argued and took sides but in the end the fish was thrown back and they who wanted to keep the fish didn't want to spend another week tracking it. They all sailed back to the town. They let everyone know that the now blind fisherman wasn't crazy at all and that the mirrored fish was in the water to stay.
