The Great Adventure of Jimmy Studman: The High School Super Hero Boyfriend (Volume 1)

The Great Adventure of Jimmy Studman:
The High School Super Hero Boyfriend

Jimmy Studman isn’t just a regular high school student, he’s a super hero! This is the story about how he also becomes a boyfriend. Jimmy Studman is no other than the high school super hero boyfriend! Jimmy Studman, like in his last name, is a STUD! He has brown hair and the best brown eyes ever! He has the cutest smile on the planet. His looks weren’t all he was good for. Oh no! He is a super hero, remember? Well, he has super speed, strength, he can fly and he can read minds. But he is really polite about his mind reading powers. He only uses them when needed. He also played sports but he had to keep his powers down while playing so no one would say he was cheating. Let’s just say he is a perfect boyfriend. But wait! He doesn’t have a girlfriend! Yep, that’s right. He’s single. I’ll bet you’re wondering why. Well, it’s not that girls don’t like him trust me. Most of his friends are girls and those girls fall all over him! But he didn’t like them. He hasn’t met the girl he likes. Well…not until now.
He became the high school super hero boyfriend on one hot August day. He was at school like everyone else, even his soon to be girlfriend who he still hasn’t met. But it was happening soon. Real soon. It all started at lunchtime, that’s when Jimmy Studman heard an ear-splitting scream. As he quickly raced to the spot it was coming from, there he found her. Yes, her! The girl of his dreams! She was only a little bit shorter than him but he didn’t care that she was tall. He never really liked short girls. Anyways! She had medium brown hair and the prettiest blue eyes that he had ever seen but he didn’t want to tell her because he could tell by the expression on her face that she was kind of freaked out by how fast he got there from the time she screamed.
“Hey, is everything all right here?” Jimmy Studman asked this girl who just so happened to be on the ground.
“Ugh…yeah. I just fell is all.” She said as Jimmy Studman gave her his hand to help her up.
“You should be more careful.” Jimmy Studman said with his award-winning smile. It seemed to impress the girl a little.
“Yeah, I should.” She said simply, and then some girls that seemed to know the girl came up and told her to hurry up. But, when she tried to walk away they both realized that they were still holding hands. She was pulled back even by his effortless tug. She looked down at their hands before saying, “I should go. It was nice to meet you. Thanks for coming when I screamed. It was really…really sweet.” She said as he let go of her hand. She ran to her friends only looking back when she got to them to find he was already gone.
Man, why didn’t I ask her name? I want to know her name. Jimmy Studman thought to himself on his way to his last class of the day.
I have to find her somehow. He thought as he sat down next to his best friend, Gus.
“Gus, man, I met this girl today and I don’t even know her name.”
“Well, dude, the only thing left to do is a musical number!” Gus said jokingly.
“Seriously, this was the girl of my dreams.” Jimmy Studman admitted to Gus.
“Okay, then find her dude. It’s the only thing you can do!” Gus said before he turned his attention to the teacher.
Okay, that’s what I’ll do. Jimmy Studman thought. After class he went around the whole school looking for her but unfortunately he didn’t find her and had to give up after an hour. He decided to go to Gus’s house around six, three hours after his search for her. You would think that being a super hero he would have better looking skills but No! When he got to Gus’s house they played video games for an hour before they heard Gus’s sister come home with a couple of her friends. Jimmy Studman looked back for only a second and thought that he saw her.
When Gus’s sister and her friends were out of earshot Jimmy Studman said to Gus, “That was her, the one with the brown hair!”
Gus didn’t believe that it was her that he was talking about.
“MAN, your mind is playing tricks on you. You cannot like Lola’s friend.” He said.
But, indeed it was Lola’s friend that Jimmy Studman liked. She was in Lola’s room at that very second.
And she was wondering if the guy in the living room was none other than the guy that helped her at lunch. She didn’t know for sure. Luckily, soon Gus and Lola’s mom came home with pizza. They all ended up in the dining room but still Jimmy Studman hasn’t learned her name. He didn’t get a chance to until almost everyone at the table was eating and she was still choosing pizza. He came up behind her placing his hand on her back then not meaning to she jumped.
Jimmy Studman stepped back and quickly said, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. It’s just that I wanted to talk.” She smiled sweetly at what he said also signaling for him to go on but he was thinking ‘What a beautiful smile she has!’
Then he heard Lola say, “Jimmy, leave her alone.” as she came up and grabbed her by the arm and took her to the table. Jimmy Studman wanted to at least sit next to her but all the seats were taken. Sad day. After they were done Lola and her friends were going to hang out in her room again when there was a loud knock at the front door. Gus answered the door; there stood a semi-cute guy that was nowhere near the studliness of Jimmy Studman.
“Hi, is Andi here?” the guy asked. The girl that Jimmy Studman was trying to get to know stood up and went to Lola’s room to get her stuff. When she was going to walk out into the hallway there was Jimmy Studman.
“Your name is Andi?” He asked her.
“Yeah, sort of. It’s actually Andralyn but my boyfriend, that guy out there calls me, Andi.” She explained with a smile. “I should go, Riley is waiting.” She said as they shook each other’s hands as she said, “And again, Jimmy, it was nice to meet you.” Then, Jimmy Studman read her mind: ‘I wish we met a couple of weeks ago.’
Jimmy Studman couldn’t control himself when he said, “A couple of weeks ago? What would have been different?” Andralyn was shocked.
“How did you know I was thinking that?” She asked confused as they heard Riley call out for her. “Never mind I really have to go!” She said as she slowly walked down the hall towards the door.
“Wait, couldn’t I see you again some time?” Jimmy Studman said gently stopping her.
“I don’t know if that would be a great idea.”
“Why not?” Jimmy Studman asked sadly.
“I really have to go.” Andralyn said stepping backwards away from Jimmy who was only inches away from her face. “Sorry, I have to go.” She said now turning away, running towards where Riley was standing.
“What took you so long?” Riley asked kind of harshly.
“Oh, I couldn’t find my bag.” Andralyn said looking back to see Jimmy looking at her sadly. “Let’s go, please.” She told Riley who then grabbed her hand they both left.
Next morning Jimmy desperately looked for Andralyn. He found her right before the first class of the day.
“Andralyn, wait.” Jimmy said as he ran towards her with his super speed run. He couldn’t control himself, he run straight into her. Oh no. He knocked her backwards as he tripped forward falling right on top of her.
“Wow, you move fast.” Andralyn said with a laugh.
“What do you mean by fast?” Jimmy asked.
“I mean that you run fast.” She giggled as they heard the late bell ring. “Well, we’re late.”
“Sorry about that. I should get off of you.” Jimmy said as Andralyn nodded. He quickly got up off of her. “Sorry about that by the way. I mean the whole falling on top of you thing.”
“It’s okay; you were just running really fast maybe next time you want to talk to me walk over. Like you said be more careful.” She said teasingly. “Well, since we’re late you want to go get something to eat?” she asked him.
“TOTALLY!” he said a bit over excited, “I mean, yeah, sure, that’s cool.” He finished calmly. “What did you have in mind?”
“I was thinking we could go somewhere TOTALLY awesome,” She laughed, “Like Taco Bell.”
“Perfect. And I know you’re just making fun of me.” Jimmy said.
“Well, of course, come on we better get out of here before we get caught.” She said as they started walking towards the door that led to the parking lot.
“It sounds like you’ve done this before.”
“Well, I have a couple times but only with people I loved of course.”
“Loved?” he asked as he smiled goofily.
“Don’t get any ideas. I’m going with you right now because you clearly want to get to know me.” She laughed.
“Well, you’re right I do want to get to know you. But, I’m still sorry about making you late.” Jimmy said.
“Will you please stop apologizing? I already get that enough from Lola. I don’t need it from her brother’s best friend.”
“I would say sorry but you just told me not to.” Jimmy said smiling when Andralyn started laughing at what he said. Sweet, I got her to laugh Jimmy thought happily to himself.
“So, do you have any idea how we are going to get to Taco Bell?” She asked him as she remembered that Riley usually drives.
“We could fly there.” Jimmy Studman said being serious but Andralyn started laughing but stopped when she saw Jimmy’s face.
“You’re not joking are you?” she asked him cautiously he shook his head and without a word swooped Andralyn in his arms and took off flying, towards Taco Bell no doubt.

“Jimmy, you’re a super hero?” Andralyn asked him even though it was pretty obvious, but she loves pointing out the obvious it’s just her thing.
            “Well, yeah.” Jimmy said simply.
“That explains you running so fast, how easily you pulled me back, and how you…how you knew what I was thinking. You read my mind. I have to go home.” Andralyn said getting up from the booth they were sitting at.
            “I’ll take you.”
“No, you can’t.” She said and went out the door, Jimmy run after her but when he went outside only seconds later she was already gone nowhere to be seen.

“Dude, that’s weird! Andralyn is so annoying.” Gus said when Jimmy told him what happened that morning when they were at lunch.
“How is she annoying?” Jimmy asked not believing that she could be.
“Just things she does and says when she’s at my house.”
“Is she going to be there tonight?”
“Dude, I don’t know. I haven’t seen her all morning so I doubt it.”
            “Yeah, that’s my fault remember.”
“Oh, yeah, you’re right.” Gus said with a laugh and a far off look.
“I’m going to go see if I could find your sister.” Jimmy said getting up.
“Why do you need my sister?”
“She is Andralyn’s friend; she might know where she is.” He started to walk towards where he saw Andralyn the day before.

“Oh crap! Lola, Jimmy is coming, go distract him, please.” Andralyn said as she noticed Jimmy walking around obviously looking for something or someone and Andralyn couldn’t explain why she left earlier.
When Lola went to distract Jimmy, Andralyn and her best friend Sydney went off through the crowd of people trying to hide from Jimmy.

“Lola, hey. Do you know where Andralyn is?” Jimmy asked her still kind of looking around.
“Oh, I don’t know, but you look really nice today.” She said getting closer to him and not because someone walked too close behind her!
“Not now, Lola. I told you I don’t like you like that! You’re my best friend’s little sister, heck you’re like my little sister.” Jimmy said trying to make it as clear as possible that he wouldn’t like her. But, Lola isn’t so bright, she doesn’t get the hint most of the time. Right at that very second Jimmy saw her, she was across the room. Jimmy didn’t waste anytime in getting to her, he didn’t say bye to Lola, he just went to Andralyn. “Hey, Andralyn I want to talk to you.”
She knew she had no way out of talking to him. “Hi. What do you need?” She asked him not rudely but as if she was scared to talk to him all of the sudden.
“Why did you leave so fast earlier?” he asked her.
“How many people know the truth about you?” Not answering his question but asking her own.
“Well, my family of course, and you.” Jimmy said moving closer to Andralyn.
“Jimmy, you can’t do that to me, I only met you yesterday.” She said in a hushed tone. When they heard someone clear there voice as if trying to get attention.
“Excuse me, Andi but I’m still here.” Sydney said getting their attention as she wanted.
“Oh, Syd I’m sorry. Jimmy this is my best friend, Sydney. Sydney, Jimmy.”
“Nice to meet you Jimmy, I’ve heard so much about you.” Sydney said with a smile.
            “You have?” he asked confused.
“Not from me.” Andralyn said under her breath.
“Then from who?” he asked her.
“What do you have super hearing too?” Andralyn asked somewhat upset.
“No, you just said it loud enough for me to hear it.” Jimmy explained simply.
“Will you two stop fighting! You meet yesterday and you’re already fighting like an old married couple.”
“Are not.” Jimmy and Andralyn said unison.
“See that’s what I mean. Anyways Jimmy, Andi isn’t the one talking about you. Lola is.” Sydney said plainly.
“Lola?” Andralyn asked confused, before yesterday she never heard of Jimmy Studman.
“Lola.” Jimmy said a little angry.
“Why would Lola be talking about him?” Andralyn asked Sydney but Sydney isn’t the one who answered.
“She has this thing for me. She’s always had.” Jimmy Studman said.
“She never said anything about you to me.” Andralyn said.
“She once told me that she never talks to you about him because she thought that you would be attracted to him and he clearly would be attracted to you, well it’s obvious that he is.” Sydney explained.
“Crap, Riley is coming. Jimmy, you really have to go like right now.” Andralyn pleaded.
“Why do I need to go?” Jimmy asked bewildered.
“I’ll tell you later, please go.” Andralyn said begging him now.
“Later? Like at Lola’s around seven?” Jimmy asked.
            “Fine, I’ll be there. Go.”
“See you later, Andi. Nice to meet you, Syd.” Jimmy said as he slowly backed up away from them with his great smile.

After school Jimmy met up with Gus. “Guess who gets to see Andralyn tonight!” Jimmy said excitedly.
“Dude, let me guess, her boyfriend!” Gus said laughing.
            “No, me.”
“Man, you got to back off she has a boyfriend.”
“I know, but there’s just something about her. Like, I need to know her.”
“Anyways, I clearly can’t talk you out of it dude, so what are you going to do with her tonight?”
            “We’re just going to talk.”
“Dude, I know you and girls, you just talk to always ends up making out.”
“Not this time, I really like Andi.”
            “You’re calling her Andi now?”
            “Yeah,” Jimmy said.
“You met her yesterday!” Gus said angrily.
“Man, I know but we share something I haven’t with anyone else.” Jimmy said of course referring to his super hero powers.
            “What exactly is that?”
“It’s hard to explain.” Jimmy said he never really felt comfortable about telling him about his powers. “Anyways, I have to go my mom needs me home.”
When Jimmy got home his mom was there. “Hey, Mom, could I bring a friend over at seven?” he asked her as he walked into the kitchen where she was putting dishes away.
“Oh, Honey, it’s fine. Just remember no powers around anyone.” His mom said with a smile.
“Mom, I kind of told someone today.”
“What do you mean kind of?”
“It’s okay, she won’t tell anyone.”
“How do you know she won’t and who is this she anyways?”
“Her name is Andralyn; she’s one of Lola’s friends. I met her yesterday.”
“You say she won’t tell anyone based on one day.”
“Mom, there's just something about her, I could just tell.”
“You tell this girl your secret even before you can even think of telling Gus, your best friend ever since the first day we moved here. Remember when you two met, your father was taking you out for a walk when you were in your Batman costume.” His mom said as if she was taking a walk down memory lane.
“Yeah, I remember. I have homework to do before she gets here.”
            “Andralyn?”
“Yeah, Andralyn.” Jimmy said as he turn and went to his room, to do homework and to wait the arrival of Andralyn.
A little before seven Jimmy put on a clean shirt, and went over to Gus’ he didn’t go in or anything he just waited for Andralyn. A few minutes after seven Andralyn came walking around the corner. “Andi, hi, thanks for coming.” Jimmy said when she came closer, but when he said that she looked behind her seeming scared.
“I really shouldn’t be here right now. I’m going to get in so much trouble if they find out.” Andralyn said uneasily. She was of course referring to her father and Riley but that will be answered later.
            “They who?” Jimmy asked confused.
“Oh no one,” She said, “So what did you want me to tell you?”
“Well, why I had to leave when Riley was coming?”
“He gets really jealous.” She said only half truthful.
“Come on let’s go for walk.” He suggested as they started down the street, “So, you can’t let him see you talking to other guys?”
“No, that’s not it. I can’t let him see me with you. I can’t even let my father see me with anyone but Riley.” Andralyn explained.
“What does that mean? You’re only going out with Riley because of your father?”
            “Yeah kind of.”
            “Why would you do that?”
“Because, he’s all I have and if I have to be with Riley, I just have to be with Riley.”
“But, why would your dad make you go out with some guy you obvious don’t like?”
            “It’s complicated.”
            “Tell me, please.”
“It would be easier to show you.” She said as she opened the bag that was hanging by her hip with the strap across her chest lying on the opposite shoulder. Pulling out a big black book. “This is my father’s scrapbook of everything he has done. Things that I am not proud of.” She said opening to a page of newspaper clippings. News clippings that no one should be proud of.
“I don’t understand. Those are horrible things, why would your father be proud of stuff like this?” Jimmy asked.
“Because, he’s the one who did them.”  She said sheepishly, not scared just sad about it.
“But, those things are impossible for one man to do.”
“Not if he’s like you. Plus he’s not the only one, Sydney’s dad, Riley and his dad. They help my father do these things.”
            “They are like me?
“Not just them, Syd and…” She stopped looked around where they were standing. “Where are we?”
“Oh sorry, see that house at the end of the corner that’s mine. But, Syd and who?” He asked her while she looked around as if she felt someone watching them.
“Could we go inside your house?” She asked as she moved closer and whispered, “No powers, someone is watching us.” They just walked slowly to his front door.
“The other person is you? Isn’t?” He asked her after shutting the door.
She nodded, “But, unlike the other, Syd and I want to do good with our powers. But, I can’t find the good in one of my powers. Plus, my dad can use them for evil. He forces me to use them.”
“What power is that?” Jimmy asked as they walked towards his room.
“I can make people forget things. Whatever I want them to forget they forget it. I’m not proud of it. When I was little I accidentally used it on my father when I got in trouble for doing something but since he’s a super like you his memory came back after a few hours. He realized I was special and could be used in his plans.”
“How did you know someone was watching us out there?”
“That’s another power. I have like radar in my head. Sometimes I can actually tell who the person was.”
“This time?” Jimmy asked when they reached his room.
            “Lola.”
            “Seriously? That’s just plain creepy.”
“She really likes you apparently. When she found out about me meeting you tonight she was so upset. I’m the one who should be upset; I’m going to be in so much trouble if anyone else finds out.”
“Jimmy, it’s time for dinner.” His mom called from the dining room.
“Should I go?” Andralyn asked politely.
“No, my mom is expecting you for dinner.”
“Okay.” Jimmy took Andralyn’s hand gently.
“Are those the only powers you have?”
“You noticed how fast I disappeared earlier.”
“Of course one second you were with me than you weren’t.”
            “Exactly.”
            “What power is that?”
“I fly just like you. Only faster.” She said with a smile as they reached a door leading into the dining room. “Wait, there’s three people in there. Two are your parents. Who’s the other?”
“I don’t know who it could be. You can’t tell?”
            “It’s no one I recognize.”
“How does that work?” He asked her about the power.
            “Everyone is a different color.”
            “What color am I?”
            “You’re a green colored one.”
“Sweet, you want to go in?”
“It would be rude not to.”

Strangely enough they found Jimmy’s grandfather also in the dining room. Turns out Jimmy’s dad called him once his wife informed him that Jimmy has revealed the family secret.
“Andralyn, you must understand you can’t tell anyone of our family.” Jimmy’s grandpa said after explaining and without giving Andralyn a chance to speak.
Finally came her chance to talk, “Mr. Studman, you don’t have to worry. I will keep his secret. We do have the same secret after all.”
“Same secret? You mean? Really everyone in your family?” Andralyn had to think fast she already told Jimmy the truth about her father but she didn’t feel all too comfortable sharing that with his parents and grandpa.
“No, just me. No one else.” She lied calmly. Jimmy wanted to know why she’s lying almost as if she was expecting him to read her mind she talked to him through thought, I’m sorry I lied to them Jimmy but they can’t find out about my dad. I don’t know what would happen if they find out and I don’t know what I would do if anything happened to my dad.
“Well, that’s remarkable. Usually, they have at least one superhero parent.”
“Maybe my mom. I never met her though so I can’t tell you if that’s true or not.” That’s true by the way. She thought to Jimmy.
“Well, I’m done. How about you, Andi?” Jimmy asked her seeing if she wanted to leave the room.
“Yes, the food was wonderful Mrs. Studman, thank you.”

After that night, sharing each others secrets and thoughts they were just automatically together but on the down low. Jimmy understood about her father and Riley. Andralyn always would refer to Jimmy Studman as her boyfriend. This made him the very own Jimmy Studman High School Super Hero Boyfriend!
